Hi Adam, You probably want to use '--with-driver=livedrive_midi'. I started a howto for lirc livedrive, you can check it out here: http://users.adelphia.net/~sbeahm/lirc/lirc_livedrive_howto.txt If you need more help, let me know, On 11/01/2003 11:09:11 PM, lir...@li... wrote: > Message: 5 > Subject: Creative Live! The 2244 is pretty awful receiver-wise. You need a strong (or close) signal (best reception I get is transmitting downwards from directly above the receiver - which you can find using a flashlight and looking carefully...), and even so, it NEVER detects a SEND_ONCE. I have to use a SEND_START/SEND_END pair about 3 tenths of a second apart to get a single digit detected. Best way to confirm/fail your hardware is to do a SEND_START, then move your transmitter around in different positions to see if it is receiving anything. Note the SEND_START only transmits for a short period of time - I'm not sure how long, so rerun it periodically. If you can't get it working with the dct2000 file and the SEND_START in ANY position, then you may have other problems... -->Steve Bennett |

Thanks Steve! That helped a lot. I was able to get the box to accept a few digits by placing the IR LED directly up to the receiver. I am now looking at making a powered transmitter, which will hopefully help out. -----Original Message----- From: lir...@li... Thanks Stephen, Following your instructions, I was able to get my RM900 remote working with my Soundblaster Live 5.1 Platinum. With my setup, the device is: /dev/snd/midiC0D0. Now, just a quick question. To have it work with XMMS (with plugin) and Mplayer, do I need to add entries into the .lircrc file? If so, is there anyone who has an example for these progams with this remote? Yes, that is correct, you add more entries to ~/.lircrc > If so, is there anyone who has an example for these progams with this > remote? lirc-xmms-plugin is distributed with a lircrc example file. The mplayer documentation has a lircrc example: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/en/control.html#lirc mplayer commands are here: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/en/control.html#ctrl-cfg-commands Buttons for your remote are in /etc/lircd.conf > > Cheers, > Adam > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Stephen Beahm" <ste...@ad...> > To: <lir...@li...> > Sent: Monday, November 03, 2003 5:38 AM > Subject: Re: Creative Live!
