Hi, I have a Dvico fusionhdvt 5rt gold digital capture card which comes with a remote control and an IR receiver which plugs into a dongle that attaches to the back of the capture card. The IR receiver plugs into this dongle via a stereo 1/8'' jack (like a headphone jack).
The problem I'm having is that the ir receiver is not sensitive enough to pick up the remote's signal at distances greater than about five feet (all of our other remotes will work with their respective units all the way to the other side of the room, about nine or ten feet).
The remote that came with the card is the black dvico remote, working on two AA batteries. I checked the IR LED's; there are two of them at the front of the remote. So I don't think it's the remote's signal that's the problem.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this kind of hardware, and if it is possible to replace the ir receiver with a different brand, or even an ir repeater.
Thanks in advance,
