Hello! I had lots of trouble compiling LIRC under Redhat 7.2, but finally i did it. I have this home-brew receiver they had tutorial for. So, mode2 showed the right thing when i pushed buttons on my remote control and lircd also worked until i ran a client. Then it crashed and the log said: Apr 24 03:48:10 drome lircd-0.6.4: lircd(pctv) ready Apr 24 04:09:03 drome lircd-0.6.4: accepted new client on /dev/lircd Apr 24 04:09:04 drome lircd-0.6.4: could not reset tty Apr 24 04:09:04 drome lircd-0.6.4: caught signal Apr 24 23:48:29 drome lircd-0.6.4: lircd(pctv) ready Apr 24 23:50:20 drome lircd-0.6.4: accepted new client on /dev/lircd Apr 24 23:50:20 drome lircd-0.6.4: could not reset tty Apr 24 23:50:20 drome lircd-0.6.4: caught signal Apr 24 23:50:27 drome lircd-0.6.4: lircd(pctv) ready I tried to free the ttyS0 port with "setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none" as they suggested in the documentation, but still the same thing. So i would be most grateful for help. Timo (from Estonia) |

Hi Timo, Your log shows lircd(pctv), which is lircd compiled to run with a user mode serial device(Pinnacle Systems) instead of the home-brew serial circuit(uses custom driver lirc_serial). I suggest downloading the latest version lircd-0.6.5, and configure, compile and install this from scratch.
