I'm using winLIRC and LIRC on different computers, but I seem to have the
same problem on both.
My computer receives IR signals and "translates" them to other IR signals
(another remote) and then sends the new signal to my TV, stereo etc. In
other words I use my computer as a translator, or as a multi-function remote
control to control different electronic equipment.
The problem is that it doesn't seem possible to forward the signals
instantly, since winLIRC "blocks" the com-port for some time during the
reception of signals. How short could this time be, i.e. for how long do I
need to wait before I can send signals using the same com port and the same
transceiver circuit? Can this time be optimized in some way? Can I turn off
the listening after one repeat of the IR signal is received, ignore the rest
of the repeats and forward the first instead?
Lots of questions, but unfortunately I don't have any answers yet. I would
be most thankful for any advice on the matter.
