What version of Lirc are you using?
I remember some changes in lirc 0.7.0 alpha which broke my winfast 2000 xp
(NOT deluxe) card. It always detected my card as deluxe so it did not work. I
had to remove a line from the lirc source (remove support for deluxe) to
detect my card properly.
This issue is not yet resolved properly, but you maybe could have success with
a newer lirc.
