I'm new to this IR stuff, but I'm looking for a quick and easy way to
convert these codes you have in your library into WAV files so I can send
them through the headphone jack on my 'droid (see:

to get the chips to do the recording, and the only other alternative is to
wire up the emitters directly to the microphone jack on my computer.
If you could point me in the direction to do the conversion myself, it would
be greatly appreciated. If it works, I'll see about putting together an
Android app and credit LIRC.
If I understand correctly what you'd like to achieve, I think it's already
been done: http://www.zokama.com/androlirc. The app is called Androlirc so
the name gives a pretty big hint as to what it does.
Basically, it takes a lircd.conf file as input and lets you configure a
remote control using the devices and commands available within that file.
It works exactly as you described: it converts the "codes from the
library" to audio buffers which are then sent through the headphone jack.
The app is pretty flexible and let you configure each button separately,
so if you want to control different devices with a single remote control
setup (Control Set), you can.
Note that the audio2IR module you linked in your mail seriously lacks
power when coupled to android phones. From my experience, some tablets are
a bit more powerful and allow for a wider range, but not comfortable
enough (again, my experience). You might want to look at an amplified
