For more details :

I am on the latest Xubuntu distribution (13.04) :
uname -a
Linux NeoLex 3.8.0-19-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 1 16:36:13 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i686

I use a Hama MCE Remote 52451 with its receiver.

I have configured lirc with the devinput driver and tested it with irw, it seems to work :
110 0 BTN_MOUSE /dev/input/MCEremote1
111 0 BTN_RIGHT /dev/input/MCEremote1
1c 0 ALT_META_KEY_ENTER /dev/input/MCEremote0
a6 0 KEY_STOPCD /dev/input/MCEremote1
a4 0 KEY_PLAYPAUSE /dev/input/MCEremote1
a4 0 KEY_PLAYPAUSE /dev/input/MCEremote1

For the moment I have a lircd.conf file which works, but I would like to re-create this config file from scratch with irrecord.

I have tried to create this file with the following command line :
irrecord --driver=devinput --device=/dev/input/MCEremote0 --force ./MyRemote
irrecord: initializing '/dev/input/MCEremote0'
Hold down an arbitrary button.
irrecord: gap not found, can't continue
irrecord: closing '/dev/input/MCEremote0'
Can any one explain to me what is the gap and why it can't found it ?
Is this the good wait to create a lirc.conf file for a new remote ?

I would like to know if it's possible to use irrecord to make a Lirc config file with a Hama MCE Remote receiver. And if yes, is it possible to use this receiver with others remotes.
