Wierdly the paper bios manual that came with my computer does refer to PNP/PCI options but these are simply not present on my system.  I have a phoenix-award bios but I guess it could be rather tweaked for the EZ-Buddie2.  I realise that clearing IRQ problems normally involves taking out other components that have the same IR, but look:

uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: irq 5, io base 0xbc00
uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: irq 4, io base 0xb000
uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.2: irq 11, io base 0xb400
uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.3: irq 5, io base 0xb800
ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: irq 3, pci mem 0xf4100000
ata1: SATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0xC000 ctl 0xC402 bmdma 0xD000 irq 11
ata2: SATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0xC800 ctl 0xCC02 bmdma 0xD008 irq 11
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:02:00.0, irq: 11, latency: 32, mmio: 0xf4000000
bt878(0): Bt878 (rev 17) at 02:00.1, irq: 11, latency: 32, memory: 0xf4001000

I can hardly take out usb and sata.

I'm going to try to boot with pci=noacpi and see if that helps
