Hi,

I am trying to set up an ati remote wonder on a 2.6.11 kernel (Fedora Core 3), using llirc-0.7.1-46. I went through the process of configuring, starting the lircd, and then testing with irw. The lirc daemon registerd a connection to irw but did not respond to any button presses. After reloading lirc_atiusb with debug on, I did notice in the /var/log/messages that lirc_atiusb was responding to buttons; so, my next step was to record a new lircd.conf using irrecord. The irrecord process seems to work fine, name button, press button, etc, until I try to save the results. At that point I get an error "irrecord: Could not reset hardware". I've tried using irrecord both with a brand new lirc.conf file and a preexisitng one.

The messages in the logs (a snippet of which is included below), seem to indicate a problem with /dev/lirc. I've checked the permissions on it and even reset it to 777 without luck.

I should probably also mention that I did have this remote working on this machine using the ati_remote.ko driver; so, I know that the hardware works. I also did make sure to unload the ati_remote, lirc_atiusb, and lirc_dev; and reload only lirc_dev and lirc_atiusb before starting this whole process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm not really sure where to go next.

Thanks,
J
