That is a good question, first of all not confuse it with zLinux, the Linux version running in the IBM Mainframes, which in some way it could be considered the other way around regarding the essence of this project.
Linuz aims to create a new flavour of the current Linux OS, basing all in the Linux Kernel, deb or rpm packaging, GNU packages, etc… But with a differentiating aspect, include a similar Interface, security and functionalities that you would find in the current IBM Mainframes running zOS.
