Hi, I've remarked, and most of us, that the xwacom_srv.o module is broken natively in xfree86. With the latest version of the linux kernel, the wacom.o driver is functionnal for me (maybe the one from linuxwacom is better but it is not the purpose of my mail). I think it would be nice to have a wacom_drv.o functionnal with the xfree86 pristine tree. I've asked Branden Robinson who is the maintainer of the Devian package for xfree and here is his reply: Here is the copy of the mail I sent to him with his answers. Maybe we should do something to have a better integration of the driver in xfree? -------- On Sat, Nov 15, 2003 at 10:44:47AM +0100, Jean-Luc Coulon (f5ibh) wrote: > Dear Branden, > > I've Debian distribution with the packages from sid. > I use a wacom tablet with a stylus for photo post-processing in The > Gimp. > > The wacom driver that comes with xfree (/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/ > input/ > wacom_drv.o) does not work at all. Has a bug been filed against the xserver-xfree86 package reporting this? > There is a working driver from the linuxwacom project > (http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/). Okay. Note that the Debian packages of XFree86 are primarily intended to package XFree86, not other source code. > Is there some plan to integrate thie driver from linuxwacom in > xfree?
