From my tests I am using 470KB for space of 1 minute of a message Assuming we allocate 600 MB for messsages that gives us 1,277 minutes, or 21 hours. That is a LOT of time for messages, there are lots of voicemails that have 2 hours of storage. The file can be compressed 40% by using standard winzip. I wonder if we should convert them to mp3. I would think there is a way to programatically do that on a debian system. The 1GB card cost about $245 with shipping, we could shave $100 bucks off the cost of each box with better commpression of the voice files. -Matt |
