Ben, I replaced the old card with a newer and am unable to get the driver to install. insmod vpb - returns 'no module by that name can be found' The old card has 'RR177' on it and 4-3-02. I assume your future drivers will be backwards compatible with the older openline cards. Can you please ssh in and if you can find anything. If someone here locally figues it out they will send you an email. Aloha, Matt |

I can't connect to any of the ports 1200-1203 and 'ctserver status' retuens 'ctserver dead but subsys locked' The echo program in unittest returns 'exception caught: VPBREG_NO_VPB_DEVICES_DETECTED, file: vpbreg.cpp line:369' All this happened after the reboot when I changed the card. The echo program and walk test programs were working fine last night. This has nothing to do with ctserver, these programs talk directly to the driver. I wonder if it got hosed with all the beta drivers we have installed. I could have a clean install by this evening. I would be able to back up the entire home directory using the winscp program, I would just drag the folder on to a local hard drive here. Let me know, Matt |

Hi Matt, I just had a look on your machine again. The board isnt showing up in /proc/pci ! You should see something like this: Bus 0, device 12, function 0: Bridge: PLX Technology, Inc. PCI <-> IOBus Bridge (rev 2). IRQ 11. Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xf0800000 [0xf080007f]. I/O at 0xa400 [0xa47f]. Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xf0000000 [0xf00000ff]. Remove the card, and clean the edge connector and try again. Cheers, Ben. You were right on, the new openline4 card does not sit correclty in the chassis! Good call. I have the old one back in, but I am experencing the same symptom with the old card, it will go to wait for ring, but not past that. Could that be because of the older card -Matt ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Kramer" <be...@vo...> To: "Matthew John Darnell" <mda...@se...> Cc: <lin...@so...> Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2003 3:21 PM Subject: Re: [Linuxvm-dev] New card, can't get driver to install > > Hi Matt, > > I just had a look on your machine again.
