I have a compaq A1000 three in one printer that I would like to get working on Linux. I would like to start with the printer, but I do not know where to begin, I have usb support and the usblp shows up in /proc/bus/usb drivers. The printer is listed in the topology in /proc/bus/usb devices. Now I need to put it all together. Any sugestions?

Do you use KDE or GNOME? If you use KDE (which is what I use), go to the KDE Menu (on the taskbar), System, and then YaST. Type in your root password and then when it loads, go to the hardware tab and click on printers. After that, select your printer in the list that comes up and click on the "Change" button at the bottom of the screen. Double click on the third item in the next list that comes up and then find your manufacturer and printer in the list. Then click OK and it should work. Post here if you have any problems.
