I couldn't tell from the e-mail. If it's HEAD only, I still don't think it's worth it to include it in arch/sh/Makefile, you should use a conditional that checks the gcc version instead. But if it's branch, it shouldn't be a problem, since gcc 3.0.2 is right around the corner. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here, but my point is that people can still get away with stock 3.0.1 to compile the kernel, and they shouldn't necessarily be forced to upgrade to HEAD (or 3.0.2) if it's a cosmetic change.
