I think that it would be good if we don't need any patches to GCC, and we should keep the patches as small as possible, but we need the patches for now. I mean, there's not any useful compiler other than 2.96 snapshot with patches or 3.0 with patches. I believe that many developpers use newer compiler with __builtin_expect, which is not supported in 2.95. Perhaps, it is because RedHat ships kgcc? -- |
