My point is __not__: BIOS should set PCMCIA, kernel should not know about it. But: If there're "wired" TLB entries, it's safe and better not to destroy them. Most likely case is booting from ATA-card or Compact Flash, and running on the file system on the card as if it's real ATA drive. In that case, BIOS enables MMU and sets a wired entry for I/O access. -- |
