I uploaded rpms for RedHat 6.2 at http://www.sh-linux.org/tools
which contains binutils(for newlib-sh), gcc(for newlib-sh) and newlib-sh.
I will upload srpms soon.

newlib and glibc are compiled for kernel version 2.2.x, but they would run 
on kernel 2.4

these are not yet tested well sorry.
