You seem to imply that I can use a non-cvs version of gcc, even the gcc-2.95.2.tar.gz off of gnu.org? Initially I thought gcc needed specific updates for the sh architecture, but after thinking about it more I guess all the SH-specific stuff is handled by binutils. Right? Now, I am building a sh-linux-gnu-gcc now using an ordinary gcc-2.95.2 tree, and will try again with that... hopefully it will fix my problems. Thanks for the info. Perhaps we should put something in http://linuxsh.sourceforge.net/docs/building-source.php3 explaining that the cvs compiler is buggy? I imagine a lot of people new to the project will use that page as a starting point (like me), and keeping it up to date with crucial information would be extremely helpful to them (yes, I am volunteering...) I definitely should have realized using as little cvs code as possible would make things easier, but lots of the cvs trees I've worked with before have almost-release quality code in them most of the time. The LinuxSH project is still relatively new and I guess that makes the CVS code a bit more experimental than I assumed. Cheers, Bryan Rittmeyer mailto:br...@ix... |
