I agree - it would be nice to be able to determine the CPU type at
run-time, possibly with some coarse grain config options to allow
selecting between SH3/SH4/?? (in the interest of reducing code size).

At the moment I'm trying to write a PCMCIA driver for the 7707's PCC
module, but I don't actually know how to correctly check for the
presence of that module - I don't remember seeing anything like
a chip/module revision register in the SH docs.
