Why do you need the reflash ability in the bootloader. After you load kernel and ramdisk once over serial, you can write to the flash. -- Matan Ziv-Av. ma...@sv... |

For those of you running native Linux machines, what are you using for a bootloader? I've found the link: http://LinuxSH.free.fr/faq/linux-romimage.diff But I was hoping for something that could handle flash updates etc like the blob project on ARM/StrongARM/XScale: http://www.lart.tudelft.nl/lartware/blob/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/blob/ Are there any open source boot loaders around? The device I'm building for will not have an ethernet connection and I don't fancy loading kernels over JTAG all the time. serial console with reflash ability would sure be nice. From what I can tell the "PFM-DS11 monitor" runs directly from flash so I can not update the flash region it is running from. I also do not know if it can be convinced to "mv" and "g" on startup. I'd like a timed boot of the kernel with default options, as well as the ability to interrupt the boot and upload new kernel/ramdisk/bootloader versions to flash and hopefully boot a kernel with command line arguments passed to the kernel. Any ideas? Oh, not sure where you folks hang out. I started a #LinuxSH on irc.openprojects.net (irc.freeport.info) and I'll be hanging out there while on this project (I go by BZFlag). Any admins for the SF project that would add TimRiker to the project would be appreciated. ;-) -- Tim Riker - http://rikers.org/ - Ti...@De... I followed all the steps in the HOWTO-Linux-Build-Kernel-SH at http://www.blandsite.org/unixce/docs/HOWTO-Linux-Build-Kernel-SH.txt and ran the resulting kernel on my LG Phenom Express and it just shutsdown. I tryed the binary that is provided at the BlandUnixCE site that is compiled for the HP680 and it ran perfectly except the keyboard map was wrong. If anyone knows of some things that i might be doin wrong i would appreciate youre input. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com |

It's sad that our test coverage is bad. I've found a bug of __clear_user, fixed. I've committed gUSA implementation for 2.4.18. I'm testing. After that, I will tag 2_4_18 and merge 2.4.19. -- |

Hi, I've just updated the web page for Windows CE devices at http://www.dodes.org/sh/ce.en.html. And I've put experimental binary kits (vmlinux and bootloader) for hp620/680/690. A patch against the latest kernel(2.5.24) and .config are also avialable there. If you have any trouble with the binaries, please consult them and modify sources and build the kernel by yourself. I have no time for building or coaching for you. The patch includes the wonderful hd64461_ss driver by Andriy Skulysh as well as many ugly hacks by me. With this driver I could use various PC cards including NE2000 ethernet, wireless LAN and cellular phone modem with my hp620 and hp690. Now I'm planning to merge the configuration of hp620/680/690 into one, and introduce the better keyboard driver framework for sh. I'll post my patches to linuxsh-dev list later to check them into CVS. Regards, -- YAEGASHI Takeshi <t...@ke...> <ta...@ya...> <yae...@do...> |

Hi folks, I'd like to apply the attached patches for a couple of problems I've noticed in recent days. (1) Sending signals via setup_rt_sigframe(): because __NR_rt_sigreturn is > 127, the attempt to put it into R3 for the trap like setup_sigframe() has a problem with sign-extension. Corrected by adding an extu.b instruction; copied same to setup_sigframe() for consistency. Also, call setup for second and third arguments is incorrect, putting them on stack rather than in r5/r6. The patch to arch/sh/kernel/signal.c attempts to fix these. (2) In sh_rtc_gettimeofday() there is some code to check that the register values are valid and reasonable; but in some cases I still get bogus values into xtime at init. The patch to arch/sh/kernel/rtc.c attempts to tighten these checks. Any objections to putting these in? Anything I missed regarding these? Thanks, --Jeremy |
