I handed the maintainership back to the author of the original code that I adapted, so its now on his site. If you wanted to make it a part of your plugin collection or take over the maintaining of it you could ask him, I don't think he is doing anything more with it. I agree that it does need more exposure, for being as cool as it is :) Where else do you think it should be advertised? Its actually been around for almost 2 years now (I showed it a little bit at LinuxTag 2001). It is a pretty cool effect, and seems to work well. In theory one could easily route the output of a soft synth, as the carrier signal, to it using JACK but I have yet to try this setup. At the LinuxTag I was using 2 sound cards, one to create the synthesis and the other to record it and a microphone as the carrier and formant signals, what a pain, that is thankfully no longer necessary. Real time vocoding is quite cool, I remember hooking it up to my TV and watching it with vocoded audio output, he he. Cheers. Josh Green |
