I just stumbled across an omission. In the section 21.8. Serving NTP Time With PTP there is configuration example for ptp4l where phc2sys will be adjusting the PTP clock (eth3 in the example). In such a case, you also want to have the option "free_running 1", just in case ptp4l should lose the best master clock algorithm. Otherwise, ptp4l and phc2sys will both adjust the eth3 clock at the same time. Thanks, Richard |
