This is just an example of a real life hardware bug from Intel. You said that your boss cannot believe such a thing is possible. However, it is not a matter of belief, hardware bugs are an undeniable fact. If I were you, I would post your issue to the e1000-devel mailing list. It is most probably a hardware bug (but perhaps a driver bug). In any case, it is not a bug in linuxptp. Also, buy another card. From the Intel cards, I have tested the 82574, the 82580, and the i210. HTH, Richard |
