Hello, until now, i thougt it would be a good idea to use a mySQL-database behind the Webfrontend together with PHP3(4) webpages, but i tested otto today (it uses exactly these components), but im really disappointed. IT'S SOOO SLOW. As long, as you dont have lots of Mem an a fast CPU it's a bad idea to use these progs for our webfrontend. So, what now? The MP3-Box should be a low-end machine, and the MP3-Database should be placed on this machine, and not on a server in the LAN. Do we need another database (some small and fast one), or should we use no database at all? (A textfile, which stores all MP3s?)
