In French, an initial letter has great chances to be a É/È/Ê or an Ô. However these glyphs are missing in the Initials family of Linux Libertine.
It would be great to add them, at least Ê (mainly because of the verb “être — to be”) and Ô (very often in poems…).
In French it is common to leave out the accents on capital letters. This is even most true in cases where text is typeset in a special elegant and reduced matter.
Well, I'm French and French Typography books say (even l'Académie Française) that accents shouldn't be forgotten. But, indeed, we can easily find a lot of publication ignoring accent on uppercase letters… and most of them aren't well “typographed”.
Plus, Linus Libertine Initials (and only this set) already contains some accentuated letters, so why not Ê/Ô.
