The rootfs system installation on the HTC Athena microdrive (Hitachi 8GB) is performed in 2 steps:

Creation of new partition for Linux/Android.

The purpose is to add a EXT3 partition onto the Microdrive disk ( 7,45 Go)
On Wince,
Plug the client usb cable on your computer
- Mount the microdrive as mass storage with (start-->settings-->connection-->usb to pc-->mass storage) or WM5Storage tool

On your computer linux.
-          Mount as sd?1
-          Archive the current files from FAT partition
-          Unmount sd?1
-          Reduce or delete/create/format the partition FAT with a size about 4,2 Go
-          Mount this partition as sd?1
-          Restore your archived files
-          Add the EXT3 partition on the microdrive remaining space ( size 3,2 Go)
-          Unmount all

On Wince,

-          Disable the usb connection from the microdrive
-          Launch regedit from Total Commander software or from other tools to access to the registry
-          In the registry, under HKLM: (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms892393.aspx)
Create a key “Part00” under HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ ATAEPSON
Move the all keys and values from HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ ATAEPSON (except “Part00”) into “Part00”
Create a key “Part01” under HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ ATAEPSON
Create a value "AutoMount"=dword:0 under KLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ATAEPSON\Part01

Creation of rootfs.

On Wince,

-          Plug the client usb cable on your computer
-          mount the microdrive as mass storage with (start-->settings-->connection-->usb to pc-->mass storage) or WM5Storage

On your computer linux.
-          Normally the both partitions are mounted as FAT on sd?1 and EXT3 on sd?2
-          Download the rootfs image from this project with the selection
