Mike, I appreciate the offer. I had suspected the MAX232 (based on comments on mailing lists.) and since I have a spare (from my PL-Link card), that would be one of the first things I tried. Once I find some time to get my HA stuff going again, getting the HCS2 back online will be a high priority.
