1. This OS and its Apps comes free of charge and only requires a old hardware with a working & fast enough cdrom to start the OS. Minimum memory required is just 128 MB. Increasing memory or installing the OS to a Hard Disk can increase performance, if you need more speed. Use the install option and follow the instructions carefully for hard drive installation. Doing pilot testing with different hardware setups will help you arrive at an optimal configuration for large scale setups later. Also can use metal primers & paints to give the old pc, a fresh look.

2. Finding and using premises with plenty of windows all around, for good ventilation ( especially first floor setups with no obstructing buildings on the surroundings ) can eliminate cooling costs too. You may develop and maintain gardens too, in the surroundings, for natural cooling effect.
