That said, the slower the clock of the system the longer the resulting latency from executing a given kernel operation. Thus, a preemptible kernel on the dreamcast can offer significant advantages. I would wager you would see a nice benefit in interactive performance under load on the dreamcast; but then again, I would think you would see that on your normal machine, too. Robert Love |
