[linuxdc-dev] Hello

I'm new to the DClinux project, I think there is a lot of potential in the 
project. I'm interested in doing a lot with my dreamcast. 

I need documentation, I have ran into some doumentation on the hardware, but 
I would like to figure out how the OS actually gets going and such, and maybe 
even try to make my own distro for DC. Would any of you know some good 
documentation online that will help me along the way?

I noticed that a lot of people lack the hardware (network adapter) that can 
really get them started. I was wondering, do any of you know if it would be 
possible to turn the bus that the modem goes into into a PCI or ISA port?

Also, I read that the gd-rom runs on a scsi bus, can you install a HD on that 
bus, or even a cdrom or DVD drive.

I am not sure what you mean by this. The OS operates just like every othe=
r=20
Linux. So, there is no shortage of online and offline documentation. O'Re=
illy=20
in particular publish a couple of excellent books about how Linux operate=
s=20
(Inside the Linux Kernel IIRC) and writing device drivers (which is avail=
able=20
in full on line).

The Dreamcast is an SH4 based system, and if you google for that you'll f=
ind=20
plenty.

Yes (in theory anyway). You can also use a coders' cable to upload stuff =
via=20
the serial port.

This is wrong. It's not on a scsi bus. I think the confusion comes becaus=
e the=20
Sega development system mounted a CD drive on a scsi bus.
