This is what killed my multiseat project, and I never found a solution 
to it, including disabling DPMS and all other powersavings.  Screens 
would still go to sleep and never wake up.

I haven't tried any of the latest multiseat projects yet (no hardware or 
space atm), but I get the impression that things like faketty have 
solved (or worked around) the problem in some form.
