All the IP addresses of the local machine  should work.
This includes 127.0.0.1 and any IP addresses the machine may also have
like multiple ethernet cards' and/or aliases.

I just tried FreeCiv, it allows logging into the same server even from
the same login on the same screen, server is on localhost, port 5555.
Just give different usernames for the different players.
