Actually I was jesting. Badly, I guess :-(

But if I did it I would buy:

1 matrox g450 AGP dualhead:

I now have an epox ep8vtai mobo with 5 PCI slots, so
it would all fit. I have 1 GB of memory. May be buy 2
1GB cards instead to get 2GB.

I plug the keyboards/mice into there.

Voilá! Debian Linux 2.6.12 would have no problems with
it. A cable Internet hookup I guess. Mobo has an
ethernet connection onboard.

What stops me from doing it: it would be a Debian
Linux only shop and I am fearful of the crowd I see in
Internet Cafes nowadays and the pervasive M$
advertizing that equates a computer with M$ products.
A case in point: my old alma mater has about 100 PC's
hooked up for its 1300 students. No attempt at all to
go open source: each one has a M$ sticker that they
paid their dues. You would think that an academic
institution of higher learning would espouse some sort
of critical attitude: zip.

Nobody even ever tried an opensource solution for
thesis.
