Hi! Got a problem with XFree86 and evdev protocol: the mouse left button does not separate "press" from "release", but does them both together, so you cannot drag anything. I "solved it" by making 2->1 which does separate them but that means pressing both buttons for button 1. evtest.c shows that the kernel passes all the data correctly, so it's X. To see if Xorg would change things I compiled R682 and patched it for Ruby (attached). Some remarks: Positive: Yes, you the windows can have shadows. They look good. Yes, windows can be transparent. That looks good too. Negative: It knows nothing of the evdev protocol. You cannot Alt+Ctrl+F<x> to a vt once in Xorg. It is *excruciatingly slow*, so as to be no good for my 850MHz Athlon. Maybe when I get the 2.3GHz Thoroughbred. Occasionally, quite often the server dies. Bottomline: stick with XFree86. Regards, Hugo PS For some reason sourceforge does not send me the mailing list anymore, but I think I still can send things... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
