Error on modprobe

hi all,
I compiled the kernel 2.6.7 with bruby patch. Everything is fine, I can
get multiple X .I successfully started 4 terminals on an Intel board,.
with some probels on X. My problem is that when i give the command
modprobe, an message come like "QM_MODULES function not defined". Why
this is happening? wat's wrong with me?
