I got this in my dmesg: >=20 > XFree86: vm86 mode not supported on 64 bit kernel >=20 > So what to do? Is it fixable by installing a X compiled > for amd64? Or do I need to find a video card that doesn't > need any bios initialization? >=20 > Helge Hafting I have 64 bit FC3 on my machine, X simply works on both cards. It might not use the vm86 mode but it initializes both Radeons just fine. Lately, I recompiled XOrg with Ben Herrenschmidt's Radeon fixes, and there is a new driver option called "VGAAccess" and I switched it off on one of the cards. It solved the only thing left that annoyed me using multihead: logging off on :0 blanked :1. Changing resolution brought it back, but now it's not needed. Best regards, Zolt=E1n B=F6sz=F6rm=E9nyi |
