Hi team! Using the latest Debian "testing" (i.e. the next stable) release with the bruby binary X that is on www.schuldei.org there are errors: Errors were encountered while processing: /mnt/Debian3.1/CD1/debian/pool/main/x/xfree86/libx11-6_4.3.0-7_i386.deb /mnt/Debian3.1/CD2/debian/pool/main/x/xfree86/x-dev_4.3.0-7_all.deb /mnt/Debian3.1/CD2/debian/pool/main/x/xfree86/libx11-dev_4.3.0-7_i386.deb /mnt/Debian3.1/CD2/debian/pool/main/r/render/render-dev_0.8-4_all.deb Those libraries are pulled in as a result of trying to install libxft-dev in order to compile Mozilla with Xft. This used to work, but of course I don't know exactly when. It appears that those libs should be part of the the bruby X binary. I'd be willing to do that, but I need some pointers as to how to proceed. Regards, Hugo PS. You get around the error by using dpkg with --force-all, since both versions are 4.3.0. But that won't work when the versions start to differ. "Testing" now says X is 4.3.0-7 The following signature is automatically added by the web email service I use, which is beyond my control: ======================================= Support Care2 Email: Stop "scientific" whaling, the whale-killing loophole http://www.care2.com/go/z/12803 |
