Hi! For reasons still unclear, after upgrading my 2.4.22 Debian Sarge partition running Bruby and gdm, HID wants keybdev.o loaded. Modprobe -c shows indeed a dependency. But because that module is absent from a Backstreet Ruby kernel, he is never going to find it... I can get around it by starting a script with an insmod of hid.o, before gpm or gdm get started, but that isn't right of course. Backstreet Ruby took out the "input core support" and "CONFIG_INPUT_KEYBDEV" from config so you can't satisfy modprobe and give him a module. I am trying to find out where modprobe finds that dependency. Hugo.
