Hi all! Thanks Svetljo for the tips on module-init-tools and the patch to Nvidia! Still got some probs. but I can't tell where these originate: 1. Starting xdm I get a failure of X with "cannot open /dev/tty0". But when I login and start xdm manually, it starts. 2. The files I am using are: http://home.planet.nl/~woerk095/XF86Config-4 , Xservers.0 and Xservers.1. On 2.4.21 usually I start 1 server with xdm (Xservers.0) then login in and do in a shell: /usr/bin/nice -10 startx -- /usr/X11R6/bin/X1 :1 -layout X1 -prefbusid 0:11:0 vt9 & Then switch to vc1 to get rid of the garbage, switch back, log out and login again as somebody else. I can start xdm with the one server on 2.6.0 and start the other server but when I log out the other server disappears again. 3.Starting xdm with 2 servers is the same: it won't do it automatically (no tty0) but will when logged in. Then only one xdm logon appears, when you type something on it, it disappears and the other appears. 4.There are no serial devices. 5. I don't know if it is supposed to work but I cannot get framebuffers to work at all. On a (non-Bruby sys) I usually do on LILO boot append: vga=794 append=" hdc=ide-scsi apm=on video=vesa:font:SUN12x22" Even when I change it to vesafb, which I saw on Google, result is a blank screen. I still use dumbcon=2 on the boot append on 2.6.0. I used ruby-260t6-20030930.diff on 2.6.0-test6. The only things I change in the .config is add the soundmodule (which gets an error on modprobe) and CONFIG_USB_UHCI_HCD=m. Thanks! Hugo.
