the page is rather obsolated ( as you probably can see: instructions for
2.4.14 :-) )
anonymous login should work ( if sf's cvs server is not again down )
but the module is ruby-2.6 IIRC (better check sf's cvs view)
or even better get the patch from Aivils site.

and yes it's worth at least for me, meaning it works as good as 2.4 and
maybe even better :-)

for more current notes on ruby-2.6 check Aivils web site (changelog &
documentation)
and may be the unstable version of the howto
