I wondered if someone might be able to tell me why the pcspkr routine has not been fixed in the 2.6.0-testxx kernels? If you're not sure what I'm talking about on any of the systems I'vee tried a bell tone or any other tone produced by that routine does not shut off after starting. I use that routine fairly heavily to produce audio feedback for blind users but currently cannot even build it into the kernel. Out of curiosity why was it changed in the first place? It isn't really an input routine is it? I will fix it if someone else has not but I thought maybe someone has already done a patch which just hasn't made it into the kernel tree yet.
