you do dislike i2c again :-)

( the patch removes ((again)) i2c/Config.in from drivers/char/Config.in)

and a small "fix" for input.agent in case kernel is started
with dumbcon=x but input configuration is done for n > x
(see the second hunk of the diff )

attached also my current input.agent & input configuration
but it's not yet tested under 2.4 (recompiling your latest patch right now)
