i thought that it might be a good idea 
to rip out all additions to init scripts, 
and create a service. 
 
and may be 
2.)  
use a single configuration file 
 
please take a look at the attached 
 
/etc/init.d/ruby_init 
/etc/sysconfig/ruby.conf 
 
and modified input.agent to read  
from the configuration file
