just a small note,

ruby-2.6(BK) breaks  in kernel/power/console.c (i think)
if power managment is enabled

some questions too :)
dumbcon option is missing(not configurable?) ?
is the /proc/bus/console/*/* interface available in ruby-2.6 ?
