i 'm really not shure about the status with 2.5.x,
big part went in, but i think not everything from ruby,
you can try pulling over cvs or bitkeeper
 
cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/linuxconsole login[enter ]

and a pretty working 2.4 version is available thanks to Aivilis :

but with the 2.4 kernel you can have only multiple X user
( multiple framebuffer is not ported)

for this to work you'll have to patch XFree,
Aivilis has patch and binary for XFree86-4.2,
you can find it updated ( for 4.2.99.3 ) on my site:

you can also check another hack to get it working with several XFree's
