Ruby-fied off won't compile on Linux/PPC

The current (2.4.7) ruby won't compile on my Debian/PPC setup.

Here's the error log:

I can post .config if it's needed. I'm going to need a
screen (either offb or controlfb) before I can properly
port pm3fb (my old ELC is too slow for serious
programming :-)
