That's not the only fbdev bug in X. I have been getting a lot of reports which indicate that FBDev X does not turn off text mode acceleration when it wants to switch into graphics mode. As far as I know, the Debian people looking after the ARM FBDev package haven't produced a patch for XFree for this particular problem yet.
