You'll need to patch your Xorg 6.9/7.0 for proper evdev layout support. Look to
the https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3912 for details. As i know,
this bug should be fixed in Xorg-7.1.
I use multyhead xorg-6.9 configuration for a months. It works much more stable
than miguel/ruby multihead solution. I use slackware-current linux distribution
with linux-2.6.16.20 linux kernel. I can post my configuration files if somebody
is interested in it.
