Homebrew's binary packages are known as bottles.

These files will be automatically downloaded by Homebrew when installing certain formulae and used instead of building from source.

These files are only uploaded by trusted Homebrew maintainers and we use SourceForge for free hosting of large open-source binaries at various nicely geolocated mirrors.
